Tata Nexon CNG Features And Safety

Tata Nexon CNG Spy: Tata Motors is launching its vehicles in different forms to strengthen its position in the Indian market. Recently, the company launched the new generation Tata Relations facelift in the dark edition, and now it is being tested with a CNG version.

Electric vehicle (EV) penetration in India remains low compared to other countries. However, Tata Nexon has recently been launched in the electric version, which is the highest among other EVs.

And single-handedly, 70% of the Tata Motors Electric segment is owned by a group of investors led by Ratan Tata. Also, it is doing well in the CNG market by providing good mileage. To continue this stream, soon disguising itself as an ordinary car on roads across India, it will come out with one of its most popular SUVs – The Tata Nation (with a CNG engine).

Tata Nexon CNG

The company has showcased Tata Nation CNG at the recently held 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and is now testing it on various terrains of our country. It will also be India’s first-ever SUV petrol turbocharged compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle.

The 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine producing 120 bhp power and 170 Nm torque will propel this variant. However, output figures may differ as these numbers belong to its petrol version. So, they could be slightly lowered for its CNG variant since those run lesser power outputs than gasoline derivatives.

A five-speed manual gearbox performs transmission duties for now, but expect an AMT option as seen on Tiago/ Tagore CNG.

Features and Safety Features

No information about which variants will get what features have been revealed yet officially, but according to some media reports, it might be offered only on second top model-based ones because all basics, like touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay wireless Android auto connectivity (10.25-inch), digital instrument cluster (10.25-inch), automatic climate control, cruise control, wireless mobile charging, ventilated seats with height-adjustable driver seat, etc. should come as standard equipment across the range anyway. At the same time, a single pen sunroof and an excellent music system are also expected.

On the safety front, six airbags can be given, including electronic stability control (ESC), tire pressure monitoring system, hill hall assist EBD with ABS 360-degree camera blind spot monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, etc. will also be there.

Tata Nexon CNG Price in India

In terms of pricing, expect this to be about Rs 1 lakh more expensive than its manual counterpart when it goes on sale later this year or early next year in the Indian market, where currently Tata Nation is priced between Rs 8.15 lakh and Rs 15.80 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

By the end of 2024, we are expected to see these cars rolling out of assembly lines into showrooms all over our great nation!

Tata Nexon CNG Rivals

Tata Nation Electric will directly compete against Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. At the same time, its regular petrol counterparts fight the Kia Sonet Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, et al. as usual. Still, they have another tough nut to crack in their quest for dominance.
